Our Story
Ben and Georgina Woolf run Oak House Farm. The business was started by Ben’s parents, Stephen and Madeline Woolf who started farming in the early 1980s. Initially the farm was arable only growing a range of combinable crops, but over time the business has changed to focus on livestock production, predominantly cattle and pigs.
Alongside the increase in stock numbers, some direct to consumer meat sales were developed. In 2019, Ben and Georgina took the plunge to build a purpose-built butchery on the farm to make the most of the livestock being produced on the farm. The butchery now sells a full range of beef, pork and bacon all produced from the cattle and pigs reared right here on the farm. Poultry is sourced from a high quality Suffolk producer and lamb comes from a shepherd who farms in a neighbouring village, guaranteeing field to fork traceability for our customers.
The butchery produces a wide range of cuts. As we always start with a whole carcase, we can prepare pretty much anything to order. We are also now offering a frozen ready prepared range including items such as sausage rolls and casserole dishes. These are all made in our on site commercial kitchen.
We are always happy to talk to customers about any aspect of the farm or butchery and would love you to pay us a visit. We think that there are a number of things that make us different to most butchers
- We promote and grow rare breeds that have been an integral part of the British landscape for centuries.
- We make all of our animal feed on the farm predominantly from locally grown ingredients.
- We adhere to the highest standards of animal welfare.
- We can offer 100% traceability of all of our products.
In addition to these point of difference
- Our products taste fantastic.
